* STatus Disk Magazine *
* Issue 1, Volume 1 *
* *
* NOTE: This issue is to be copied freely by Atari ST users. We at STatus *
* strictly prohibit anyone selling this issue as part of a Shareware or PD *
* collection. *
* *
* This demo contains all of the original articles present in the October issue*
* of STatus Disk Magazine, and one of the PD/Shareware programs, Modem Hunt 2 *
* along with all of the built in features of the reader. *
* *
* Issue 2 is due out for a December 7th release, and will contain information *
* on the TT030/2, Atari's showing at ComDex, the WAACE '89 AtariFest, an *
* interview with Jay Craswell of Image Systems (makers of a 1024x768x16 color *
* video board for the MEGA ST computer), and reviews of: *
* *
* Turbo16 by Fast Technology (pending the release of the next shipment) *
* Kult by Exxos *
* Red Storm Rising by MicroProse *
* Bloodwych by MirrorSoft *
* DungeonMaster ][ (pending release) *
* CodeHead Utilities Disk *
* STalker v2.03 by STrata Software *
* TOS 1.4 compatibility list (over 100 programs tested) *
* Michtron BBS v3.0 *
* *
* We will also feature the following tutorials: *
* *
* Assembly Tutorial: Line-A graphics routines *
* GFA Tutorial #1: Chaos, by Patrick Paul *
* GFA Tutorial #2: Spectrum 512 picture animation *
* Cyber Tutorial (by Maryland Computer Animation 1st place winner, Peter Liu) *
* *
* ...and also, we will cover the following events: *
* *
* ComDex (occurring this week) *
* WAACE AtariFest '89 (yes, we know, we premiered there LAST month) *
* *
* We are also working in conjunction now with ST-Plug, and pursuing relations *
* with A.I.M. (hi! to Bill and Pattie Rayl, and thanks for helping us get our *
* start!). *
* *
* STatus will be offering new features starting with the next issue: *
* *
* 1) pictures and screenshots will now accompany each article and will be *
* viewable within the STatus text reader. *
* 2) disk space will be optimized further by use of .PC1 compressed pictures *
* (really something that would've made it into STatus #1 had we had time!) *
* 3) MORE PD & shareware offerings! (we had 400k last time with VanTerm 3.8, *
* Rcopy 3.0, PowerCalc 1.0 and ModemHunt 2!) *
* *
* Finally, we'd like to mention HOW TO BUY STatus. You can purchase a single *
* issue (you'll recieve the December 1989 issue NOT the October one) for $7.50*
* or you can subscribe for six (6) months for $20, or one year (12 months) for*
* $30 (a 33% savings, and only $5 and issue!). You can order by sending a *
* check or money order payable to STatus Software to the following address: *
* *
* STatus Disk Magazine *
* Suite 299 *
* 4431 Lehigh Road *
* College Park, MD 20740 *
* *
* P.S. We also want to let user groups get a great bargain! Drop us a letter!*
* and we'll help you get STatus at a special bargain rate. You can even use *
* STatus to raise funds for your own usergroup, since we can offer it to user *
* groups in bulk for much less than we can individual users. The usergroup *
* can then, at its own discretion, sell STatus at a slightly higher price to *
* raise money. We acknowledge that without usergroup support we will not be *
* as accepted as the print magazines, and if you have any questions, contact *
* us at the address above. *
* *
* *
* STatus Disk Magazine (c) 1989, is a COMMERCIAL effort. *
* Oh yeah, Hi to Dan Panke at ST-Plug! He has a great newsletter! *
